Purpose clauses - A purpose clause contains the word 'ut' followed by the subjunctive and is translated as 'in order that' or 'in order to'
Result clauses - A result clause also contains the word 'ut' followed by the subjunctive, but the key difference here is that there is usually a signpost word such as 'tam' or 'tantus'
Indirect commands - An indirect command is the third clause to take 'ut' plus the subjunctive, and is marked out by one of six verbs to take such a construction
