How do I remember so many facts?

There are a lot of facts to remember at GCSE for History. The best way to make sure that you know the facts you want to by the exam is to start learning them early so that they go into your long term memory. Create fact tests so that you can get a family member or friend to test you regularly. Timelines can also be really helpful for learning dates. The website Quizlet is particularly good for learning facts and is the kind of thing that you can pick up and do for just 5 minutes when you have a spare moment. Applying facts to points that you would make in an essay also helps consolidate your knowledge. In the same way, essay plans are really helpful as well. It is also important to not to try to learn too many facts - you can only use so many in an exam. So be selective so that the ones you remember are the most relevant. Its best to try a number of these techniques and see what works best for you!
