Compare competitive and non-competitive inhibition

Competitive inhibition:

-Single active site for binding of substrate/competitive inhibitor

-binding does not change the strutcure of protein

-inhibition reversible by increasing substrate concentrtation that displaces competitive inhibitor

Non competitive

-non competitive inhibitor bind in a site close to the active site

-binding of non competive inihibitor causes structural change of protein which prevents substrate from binding in active site

-inhibition not reversible by increasing substrate concentration
