How has the writer structured the text to interest the reader?

Main thing is in answering this question is a clear plan. You pick out the important linguistic/ literary features of the text and rank them in order of importance. You then explore the overarching principle of the text; the main theme, and how each feature adds to make a more vivid/memorable/ sympathetic/realistic experience for the reader.
When actually writing the essay, make sure to closely analyse each phrase quoted from the text. Take the reader of your paper on a journey so that they may fully understand the link between the chosen phrase and how it's a part of the unifying principle.
