I would start by opening up a discussion with the student about the question and various ways to approach it. By asking leading questions in a Socratic way I can guide the student to the answer instead of directing them to one. Once we have ideas to answer the questions I would help construct model sentences and paragraphs in Italian so that the student has a useful and informed model answer at the end.
Various discussion points would be the importance of Alfredo as a father figure, considering Salvatore's own father is dead, his importance in developing a passion for cinema in Salvatore, and his role in convincing Salvatore to follow his dreams to be a world-famous director.
