Anton, Barbara and Clive are buying pens from the shop. Anton needs 4, Barbara needs 7, Clive needs 11. Pens only come in packs of 10. How many packs of pens do they need to buy between them?

The total number of pens they need is 4 + 7 + 11 = 22However pens only come in packs of 10 so they have to round up the number of pens they need to the nearest 10 ... this is 30. Then 30 divided by 10 is 3, so Anton, Barbara and Clive need to buy 3 packs of pens between them.
