Jay, Sheila and Harry share £7200 in the ratio 1 : 2 : 5. How much does Harry receive?

We can calculate the sum of the numbers in the ratio. 1+2+5=8.Now divide £7200 by 8 to find out how much 1/8 is worth (7200/8=90)Finally multiply 90 by 5 to calculate 5/8 (the amount that Harry will receive).£90 x 5 = £450
