What is the best way to structure an English Internal Oral Commentary (IOC)?

There is no one way to structure an IOC properly, but having a solid structure is essential if you wish to achieve high marks. It mainly depends on what the text type is. If you are analysing a poem, it may be wise to discuss the piece based around three main ideas you want to develop upon. For example, you could chose to describe the way the structure of the poem conveys a particular feeling, or different stylistic vocabulary techniques contributing to the tone. Another argument could focus on a less technical aspect of the poem. It is suggested to have three main points to put across during an IOC.Once the points are made clear and mentioned in your introduction, I would suggest to analyse the poem by stanzas and tackle each issue separately but chronologically. Finally, unite all your points in your conclusion, providing a strong final argument.A similar style can be used for novel extracts as well.
