I know a lot of the content for my history exam but my marks are consistently poor. What do I need to do to improve?

In essay subjects such as history the way that you structure an essay is just as important as the facts that you know. Focus on understanding what the facts you know show about the society or people you are studying. Evidence is just one part of an essay, having a broader argument and showing that you can explain the relevance of evidence is just as, if not more important. Spend more time planning and making connections between facts and causes and results of events.
