What should I put in my Personal Statement?

A Personal Statement is a daunting task- yet it should be much easier than it is made out to be. You need to show what and why you chose the subject that you want to do. The majority of your Statement should thus be about your subject and what interests you about it. What in particular is it that made you choose? And so what have you done beyond the syllabus that explores your area of interest? Try and speak in your academic tone to show your understanding as well. For the final part of your Statement, try and show your extra-curricular activities and achievements, and how they have impacted you. It shouldn't just be a list!
