When both sodium and Hydrochloric acid are added to a test tube, what will be observed?

When a Metal and acid react together they form a salt, and hydrogen gas. You can't really see the salt when is is formed, as salts dissolve in solution. However you can see the hydrogen gas bubbles. So fizzing or effervescence would be an appropriate description.
