Explain two elements that can be considered to be aspects of ‘the rule of law’.

The basic principle of the rule of law was defined in Entick v Carrington and it is the idea that all government action must be based upon law. One aspect of this is to ensure the law applies equally to all so that the government is bound by the same laws as its citizens and the other is to ensure people have certainty. In this way, they can know what they are legally allowed to do and not do.
