simplify 36^(-1/2)

1/6 - we can split 36^(-1/2) into 36^(-1*1/2) this way we can apply what we know about basic power rules to split up the problem into more familiar chunks.x^(1/2) means we take the square root of x and x^(-1) means we find the reciprocal of x (1/x)36^(-1/2) = (36^(1/2))^(-1) = (6)^(-1) = 1/6
