Explain what is meant by a multiple hazard zone. (4 marks)

A multiple hazard zone is a location where two or more geophysical and hydrometeorological hazards can occur at any point. An example of this is the Philippines; it is susceptible to the occurrence of Typhoons, Floods, Tsunamis, Earthquake and/or Volcanoes at any given time, for example, in 1976 the Philippines experienced a 7.9 magnitude earthquake triggered a tsunamis that killed 7100 people.
