The 2 main things which are NEEDED for a A/A* introduction in a Religious Education essay are the following -
Give contextual information:Imperfection to Plato was that everything in our world changes. There must be an underlying idea of what everything is in our material world, as this world is an illusion according to Plato. For instance, this would include concepts like beauty, and Plato believed this is present in the world of the Forms. The World of the Forms are Plato's answer to two key philosophical inquiries: metaphysics and epistemology. Plato came to the idea of the Forms based on two premises. Firstly, knowledge cannot be gained through sense experience (a posteriori) as this is mere "doxa", and second that we do manage to know things (a priori).
Line of Argument:Aristotle, the student of Plato, presented the greatest flaw to Plato's rationalism. Aristotle's empiricism highlights that a priori knowledge can not be superior to a posteriori knowledge, like Plato said it was. Aristotle's third man argument illustrates that his empirical perception on the world would be a better approach, therefore his critique highlights the Forms cannot teach us anything about the physical world.
