How did the attitudes of the North and South differ in relation to the Civil War?

The South profited primarily from agriculture, such as from crops like tobacco and cotton, and resultantly the majority did not want industrialisation to occur. On the other hand, the North had a flourishing industry, mainly due to their larger supply of natural resources, and wanted further industrialisation. The North was in favour of the abolishment of slavery, which contrasted the South who believed that the African-American slaves were inferior to them and wanted them to continue to work on their plantations.
