What kind of structure and bonding is seen in NaCl, graphite and Mg?

NaCl is an example of a covalent structure, where electrons are shared between the atoms in covalent bonds. Graphite has a giant covalent structure with the covalently bonded carbon atoms arranged in layers. Mg is an example of a metallic structure where positive metal ions are within a 'sea' of negative electrons.
