When should we use the subjunctive mood as opposed to the indicative?

The indicative is used to make factual statements or to describe real things and events. On the other side, the subjunctive is used to express desire, doubts, the unknown and the abstract. Subjunctive sentences usually include (1) two subjects, one in the main close and another in the dependent close, (2) a relative pronoun (3) and two verbs. An easy reminder of the situations in which we might use the subjunctive mood is the word WEIRDO. This stands for Wishes, Emotions, Impersonal expressions, Recommendations, Doubt/Denial, Ojalá
