How do I figure out UKCAT abstract reasoning patterns?

Think of the categories of factors that could be used in the pattern sets and you'll be able to rapidly go through them in your head to narrow it down: colour, shape, symmetry, number, size, rotation, etc. One mnemonic for remembering these is SCANS (shape, colour, arrangement, number, size).
