Simplify (x+4)^(2)-(x-2)^(2)

Treat the question, (x+4)2-(x-2)2 as a2-b2 where we can simplify as (a+b)(a-b). ie. (x+4+x-2)(x+4-x+2) *be careful about change of signsWe then get (2x+2)(6) which expands to 12x+12 and we can then simplify to 12(x+1).
