Simplify completely: 3x^2 - 14x +5 /2x^2 -10x

Ideally you're aiming to find common factors on both sides of the fraction that cancel out. Firstly we can break this question down into two bits. First bit is factorising 3x^2 -14x+5. Factorizing this would begin with figuring out two numbers that multiply together to make 3 (coefficient of x^2), which are 3 and 1. So far our brackets would look like this: (3x )(1x )Then we find two numbers that multiply to make +5 and add to make -14, knowing we will be multiplying one of the numbers by 3, when you expand the brackets using FOIL. These numbers would be 1 and -5. Thus our brackets will be(3x +1)(x-5)Looking at the bottom fraction we are able to take common factors out which would be 2x. That would leave us with 2x(x-5)We see that (x-5) is a common factor in both the top and bottom fraction so they cancel out leaving:3x+1/ 2x
