A bottle contains 300ml of medicine, the dose for a child can be given by (m*a)/150 where m is the child's age in months and a is the adult dosage of 40ml. If you need 2 doses a day, how long will the medicine last until it's empty for a 2y/o child?

1) Work out the dosage required by the child per day 2 years old in months is 122 = 24. (12 is the number of months in a year and 2 is the child's age.)2440/150 = 6.4 ml (Using the formula given to us from the question to find child's dosage)The child requires 2 doses a day therefore: 6.42 = 12.8 ml2) Then work out how many days it will last 300/12.8 (Using division shows us how many 12.8 is there in 300, in other words how many days can we use the medicine for)300/12.8 = 23.44 days.We cant have .44 of a day therefore the medicine will last 23 days.3)Double check To make sure were right multiple the daily dosage by the number of days 2312.8 = 294.4 300 - 294.4 = 5.6 This shows we are right as by the 23rd day there is still medicine however not enough for the whole day.If the solution is a negative that shows we are using more than what we had and that is impossible. If the solution is 12.8 or bigger (Daily dosage) that means were wrong because we can use the medicine for more days than we said we could
