Osmosis and diffusion are both examples of passive transport. Describe another similarity and a difference.

Neither diffusion or osmosis require an input of energy and result from molecules moving from an area of high concentration to low concentration. This is movement down the concentration gradient. All gasses and liquids move by diffusion. However, only water moves by osmosis and this must occur across a partially permeable membrane.
