How do I remember all the dates?

In order to recall facts quickly, such as specific dates I find the best results come with using flashcards. For example, on an index card write the event you need to remember (The October Revolution), and then on the other side, write the date at place (St Petersburg, 25 October 1917). Then test yourself by going through the cards and guessing the date. When you get one right, put it to the side and continue with your other flashcards. Keep going until you have them all in the 'correct' pile.
