How should I structure the long answers in the exam?

In order to achieve full marks in essay questions it is very important to structure your answers in an organised manner. I would recommend one introductory paragraph, one or more development paragraphs and one more paragraph for the conclusion. In the introduction, you should answer the question that is posed (without any further explanation), as well as define all the Economic terms that the question refers to. If the question is asking for analysis and opinion ("How far do you agree...?" or "To what extent...?"), you should state your position here.In the development, you should explain the processes by which you can get to the answer you are giving. If it is a question which asks you to compare two positions, you must give arguments, examples and counter-arguments that support your thesis in the development paragraphs. You should do at least one paragraph for each position and possibly another one for an analysis where you can compare and contrast the two (not always necessary), in order to reach a conclusion. In the conclusion, you should reiterate your main points and arguments. You should also state your position again. No new information should be added here.
