Solve 8p = 24

In order to get p on its own, it is necessary to move it over to the right hand side of the equation. When moving something from one side to another, you flip the sign. For example, in this case, it is 8*p, but when moved over to the other side, it is 24/8. Therefore, p=3

Solve this pair of simultaneous equations: 3x + 2y = 4 and 2x + y = 3

y is inversely proportional to d^2 and when d = 10, y = 4. d is directly proportional to x^2 and when x = 2, d = 24. Find a formula for y in terms of x. Give your answer in its simplest form.
