What is a Force Field analysis and how can it be applied?

Force Filed analysis is a decision making tool analysing the forces for and against a decision or change. It is divided into driving forces (advantages) and restraining forces (disadvantages). A weight is allocated to each of these forces according to the level of importance of each one, from 1 (weak) to 5 (strong). This analysis can help improve an investment’s chances of success by suggesting and investigating which forces must be strengthened and which must be weakened. It is although argued that the weights attached to each force are subjective and depend on the individual decision-maker. Furthermore, some forces may not be considered due to the will of emphasizing the need for change.
