It would take 120 minutes to fill a swimming pool using water from 5 taps. How many minutes will it take to fill the pool if only 3 taps are used?Firstly, you need to find how long it would take to fill a pool with just one tap. As 1 tap will take 5 times as long as 5 taps, you will times the time by 5:120 x 5 = 600By using 3 taps, it will take 1/3 of the time as it would with 1 tap. Therefore, you would divide the time by 3. 600/3= 200 Therefore, it would take 200 minutes to fill the bath with 3 taps.
