Factorise x^2 +6x + 8

Firstly list two numbers that add to 6 and right them down e.g. 4 and 2.Secondly list two numbers that multiply to form 8 e.g. 8 and 1 or 4 and 2.The numbers that appear in both solutions will therefore be the answer.We can then do the expansion of the factors (x+4)(x+2) for completeness we can then see that the answer expands to x2+2x + 4x +8 which can then be simplified to x2+ 6x + 8
