Explain the differences between procedural memory and episodic memory.

  1. Procedural memory concerns motor skills and actions, such as riding a bike. Episodic memory concerns life events, such as a birthday party. 2. Procedural memory is non-declarative, meaning it is difficult to explain verbally and we do not often consciously recall the memories. Episodic memory is declarative, meaning it can be expressed verbally and is frequently recalled into consciousness. 3. Procedural memories more resistant to forgetting. 4. The systems supporting each type of memory are based in different brain regions.
