What are measures of central tendency and how do you work them out?

Measures of central tendency are averages of the data from an experiment. There are few different types: mean, median and mode. The mean is worked out by adding all the scores together and dividing that number by the total number of scores. The median is can be worked out by arranging the data in order of size, the median is either the middle score or the average of the middle two scores. The mode is the most frequent score in the data so can be worked out by counting how many times each score occurred.
