Explain two impacts of tourism on an LEDC. (4 marks)

In this question, you need to name and explain two impacts of tourism on a less economically developed country. The impacts could include socio-economic or environmental, and you could use an example to show extra knowledge- however this is not necessary as it is only a 4 mark question. The impacts described in the answer can be positive or negative, or one of each. Here’s an example of how you could answer:An environmental impact of tourism on LEDC’s is that large numbers of visitors can cause damage to habitats as they increase footpath erosion, for example in safari parks. Furthermore, a socio-economic impact is that unemployment rates decrease as tourism provides more jobs for the country’s population.
