Which is more reactive, chlorine or iodine. Explain why. (4 marks)

Chlorine is more reactive.Less shielding - Chlorine has fewer shells so it's outer electron is closer to the nucleus (where as iodine has greater shielding (more shells) so increased distance between the nucleus and outer electron)(so chlorine) has greater attraction between its nucleus and its outer electron so chlorine gains an electron more easily
