Name and describe each of the tests used to test for the presence of :starch, lipids and proteins.

Starch- add iodine to the sample. A positive result will give a blue/black solution.Lipids- Add ethanol to the sample and shake well then add water. A positive result indicating the presence of a lipid will give a white cloudy emulsion.Protein- The Biuert test is used to test for the presence of protein in a sample. Add sodium hydroxide (NaOH) followed by copper sulphate solution (CuSO4). If protein is present in the sample, the solution turns from blue to purple.
