What are the components of the cells, and what do these components do?

So, humans and plants are made up of many cells, and these cells and what are in these cells play a key role in the survival of the organism.Humans and plants share many of the components, but overall have a few differences.First, the basic components that make up both the plant and animal cells are -cell membrane: the cell membrane surrounds the cell, it is the outer layer, it allows things to enter and leave the cell, kind of like a boundary between the inside and outside of the cell. It is a flexible layer. cytoplasm: this is basically, where all of the chemical reactions of the cell happen, it is a jelly like substance which allows the cell parts to move freely within the cell membrane. nucleus: this is where all of the genetic material (DNA) of the cells is kept, it is basically the control center of the cell, it has all the information which allows cells to grow and reproduce.mitochondria: this is the powerhouse of the cell, where respiration takes place, and so where energy is produced -- hence why they are called the powerhouse of the cell. All of these are present in BOTH human and plants, however plants have a few extra:Cell wall: this surrounds the cell membrane, so it can be thought of as a double boundary, it is tough and gives the cells extra supportChloroplast: the chloroplasts contain chlorophyll, and this is what allows photosynthesis to take place (food production of the plant).Vacuole: a storage space of the cell which contains cell sap. They may store food or nutrients that the cell may need to survive.
