Explain one advantage of using unstructured interviews to survey family relationships?

Unstructured interviews are preferred by interpretivists because it allows researchers to gain verstehen and deeper understanding of social relations. This may not be possible with structured interviews that provide systematic or boxed answers which may fail to give depth to our understanding. Furthermore, unstructured interviews allow participants to extend their answers and provide situational factors for sensitive topics.
