Explain in three ways how pressure groups help improve democracy

One way in which pressure groups help improve democracy is by giving minorities a chance to air opinions important to them which may get lost by political parties who are tying to please the majority of the electorate. For example the justice for Gurkhas pressure group allowed Gurkhas to air their opinion on how they felt unfairly treated after their service.
