It should usually outline the basis for your argument, discussing what you will touch upon in your essay. The first paragraph should discuss the factor or point you believe to be of the greatest importance. Of course, dependent on the question it is essential to argue both sides and explain why your line of argument is superior. Therefore, you should use a counter argument, but ensure that you have the evidence to disprove this idea. The discussion of other factors and ideas should take up the next few paragraphs. Evidence is key and PEE (point, evidence and explain) paragraphs should be used. The conclusion is where you draw together all of your ideas and justify your final thoughts. It is important not to introduce any new ideas in the conclusion.
