Two differing energy sources are wind energy and nuclear energy. The advantages of wind energy are that it causes minimal environmental damage and does not release any greenhouse gases. Furthermore, the wind turbines require only little supervision and maintenance. However, wind energy has disadvantages in that it is costly to build required facilities. Additionally, there are no ways of storing wind energy long-term, which means that in order to produce energy, the wind stream has to be constant. The advantages of nuclear energy are that once built, the nuclear power plant can operate for many decades. Moreover, the cost of the production of energy is low, meaning nuclear energy is relatively cheap. However, nuclear energy produces radioactive waste, which remains harmful and toxic for hundreds of years. In addition to this, nuclear power plants can be hazardous and possible be a cause of catastrophes.
