What's the difference between Eukaryotic and Prokaryotic cells?

Eukaryotic cells have membrane-bound organelles such as the nucleus, the endoplasmic reticulum and the mitochondria which are not found in the prokaryotic cells. Examples of eukaryotic cells include animal and plant cells. Examples of prokaryotic cells include bacteria and archea. It is believed that eukaryotic cells evolved from prokaryotic cells to make more complex organisms. Another notable difference is in the DNA composition, eukaryotic cells have multiple chromosomes, meanwhile prokaryotic have plasmids.
