Solve 4(x–5)=18

Firstly, you would expand the brackets on the right hand side of the equation, resulting in the equation looking like:4x - 20 = 18Then you would isolate the x, so would add 20 to 18:4x = 38Then, divide both sides by 4 in order to solve the equation:x = 9.5
