Line A passes through point Q(2,3). Line B is parallel to line A and has the equation 2y-3x=4. What is the equation of line A?

If two lines are parallel they have the same gradient so we must find the gradient of line B and use it to find line ALine B ==> 2y - 3x + 4 = 0This can be rearranged in to the form "y = mx + c" where m will be the gradient==> 2y = 3x - 4==> y = 1.5x - 2 so m = 1.5Line A will also have the gradient 1.5 as it is parallel to line BWe can use the formula (y - y1) = m(x - x1)Point Q has coordinates (2,3) so x1=2 and y1=3Equation of line A ==> (y - 3) = 1.5(x - 2)Rearranged ==> y = 1.5x

GCSE: How do you find the bearing of point B from A?

Solve 4x+y=7 and 3x+2y=9

3x+2y=12 ; 5x+3y=19

Expand and simplify (3x + 2)(4x - 3).
