One negative externality that could occur would be the potential noise pollution that it creates as neighbouring residents may be unhappy about the new disruption.Another negative externality could occur during the building process where people may have to hand over land during the construction process which could destroy communities.You could also talk about congestion and traffic jams or air pollution caused by the airport.
