How would you work out how much money each Fred and Julie get if they share £60 in a 5:7 ratio?

If Fred and Julie share £60 in a 5:7 ratio, Fred will get 5/12ths of the money and Julie will get 7/12ths of the money. All together there will be 12 parts of the money because 5 + 7 = 12So, you need to divide £60 by 12. This equals £5.Fred will get 5 x £5 = £25Julie will get 7 x £5 = £35You can check this is right by making sure the money they each get adds up to the original amount. £25 + £35 = £60 So you have calculated the amounts Fred and Julie get correctly - well done!
