I struggle with gap exercises in reading comprehension exercises because I don't understand what the text is saying.

Even if you don't understand the whole text in a gap-filling exercise, you can use your grammar knowledge to your advantage.Here are a few examples:You must fill in the gaps using the correct answer from the bank of words below:mobilisentprojetdévaluationlouant respecter"Face aux promoteurs, des associations se  _________________ et multiplient leurs actions."If you don't understand the text, have a look at what precedes the gap. In this case, it's "des associations se". From this alone, we know two things: that a verb must follow 'se' and that it must be in the third-person plural form."Certains habitants profitent financièrement de l’installation d’éoliennes en _________________ leurs terrains pour leur implantation."Here, because the gap is preceded by 'en', we can presume that the missing word must be a gerund."Sans compter la  _________________ des habitations."Here, the gap is preceded by "la" and therefore we must use a feminine noun.
