y is inversely proportional to x. y = 0.04 when x = 80. Find the value of y when x = 32.

If y is inversely proportional to x. We know that y=k/x for some constant k. We need to find this constant before continuing. Looking at the information given to us in the question we know for one example that y=0.04 when x=80, plugging this into our expression we have 0.04=k/80, rearranging gives us k=0.04*80, so k=3.2. Now we have k we can proceed. We have the value of k and the value of x, and by plugging them in to our expression we have y=3.2/32, so y=0.1.
