How do I structure a good A - level Sociology paragraph?

Use the easy to remember acronym ITEEAL - idea, theorist, example, explain, analyse and link. Let's take an example A - level Sociology families and household 10 marker , 'Outline and briefly explain two reasons for the increase in same sex couples in the U.K. ' Firstly, use an idea, using the language of the question, ' One reason for the increase in same sex couples in the U.K is due to the reduction of social stigma around homosexuality.' You would then want to bring in a theorist, 'Weeks Et Al (1999) found from his study that stigma surrounding same sex couples has lifted due to the church and state loosing their ability to influence society.' This brings in some explanation as well as backs up your idea with a sociological theory. Ten explain further, 'this is because society has become increasingly secular and individualistic over the last three decades.' We then want to give an example of how society has lessened stigma around homosexuality, 'for example, under the coalition government, in 2013 gay marriage was legalised, in order to reflect the changing consensus in society.' Now, analyse 'overall the change in legislation and attitudes has created an environment that allows homosexual individuals to be less afraid of forming relationships.' Finally link back to the question, using the language of the question, ' Therefore, in the U.K it can be said that there has been an increase in same sex couples due to a change in social attitudes and new legislation that reflects this change.'
