Solve 5x - 7 = 3x + 2, to find the value of x

x = 4.5

Rearrange the equation, so that like terms are on the same side:

5x - 3x = 2 +7

2x = 9

Then to find x, divide 9 by 2

x = 4.5

Solve the simultaneous equations 3x + 2y = 4, 4x + 5y = 17

Simplify, leaving your answer as a quadratic: (2x + 3)/(x+4) - (3x - 6) = 4

factorise and hence solve x^2 + 10x +18 = -3

write 560000 in standard form
