How do I write a personal statement that stands out from the crowd?

You want your personal statement to grab the attention of the person reading it.It needs to be concise, but also informative, and most importantly it needs to demonstrate your unique qualities. It is important to be honest about your abilities and experience, but at the same time, the way in which you present them is essential. If, for example you have a part time job, or have received an academic reward from your school, you must explain the value of these achievements, and their relevance to your application. The way in which you structure your personal statement is also key. There should be a topic division between each paragraph. You could, for example, divide your work by your aspirations, academic achievements, extracurricular achievements, and what you feel you can bring to the course you are applying for. It's always good to remind the university why you would benefit them by being a student there. It might seem like a daunting task at the outset, but writing a personal statement is a means for you to express yourself. To look back on your life so far and all you have achieved. It's not as scary as you first think. In fact, it can be an empowering experience.
