simultaneous equations - 2x + y = 7 and 3x -y = 8

there are a few main ways to solve simultaneous equations: find an equal like term. In this case y and add or subtract the two equations together to isolate one of x or y.

Another way of solving simultaneous equations is to find what one variable equals and then sub it to the other equation.
